D.1 Notes on peripheral circuit design

s Notes on designing circuits which generate the DC signal
In the M32000D3FP I/O space, there is a 4 MB system area (H'FF80 0000 to H'FFBF FFFF). This area
is reserved for development tools such as in-circuit emulators or debug monitors. The user cannot use this
area.
To protect the system area and so as not to obstruct operation of development tools, be aware of the
following points when designing peripheral ASICs and other the M32000D3FP external circuits.

(1) handling of the DC signal when accessing system area
__
Design the peripheral circuits so that they do not reply to the access request (do not return the DC
signal) when the user program accidentally accesses the system area. When designing a peripheral
circuit that can stop a bus function such as bus-time out, the method is the same.
However, the above restrictions do not apply to systems not connected to a development tool.
__
(2) handling of the DC signal other than when accessing the external bus
__
When inputting the DC signal to the M32000D3FP, input "L" in one bus access only once and design
to be sure it goes "H" in the idle cycle. Correct operation of the M32000D3FP is not guaranteed when
__
inputting an "L" level to DC during the idle cycle.
__
(3) DC signal processing in the hold state
The M32000D3FP may start an external bus access immediately after returning from the hold state.
__
Therefore, design such that the DC signal goes "H" before the sampling point for the DC signal of
this access.
Refer to Chapter 6 "Bus interface" and Chapter 12 "Electrical characteristics".

DC signal output start: DC = "H" immediately after CS = "L" in the hold state
__
DC signal output completion: synchronized with the CLKIN falling edge at which
__
the CS ="H" input is sampled.
When completed, an "L" level goes to "Hi-z".
