The CPU, LAN and WAN reserve registers reserve a dedicated amount of FIFO space for each transmit port. This prevents one ‘stalled’
port from totally filling the Frame Buffer, and preventing the other ports from receiving data. The default size for each port is 8 frames.
Note that under some conditions, the MB86976 may write into reserved Frame Buffer space to try to control congestion.
