Line Circuitry
The transmit and receive tip/ring connections provide a matched interface to the cable (i.e., terminating impedance
matches the characteristic impedance of the cable). The diagram in Figure 14 shows the appropriate external com-
ponents to interface to the cable for a single transmit/receive channel. The component values are summarized in
Table 30, based on the specific application.

Resistor tolerances are ±1%. Transformer turns ratio tolerances are ±2%.
1. Use Lucent 2795B transformer.
2. For CEPT 75
applications, Option 1 is recommended over Option 2 for lower device power dissipation. Option 2 increases power dissipa-
tion by 13 mW per channel when driving 50% ones data. Option 2 allows for the use of the same transformer as in CEPT 120
applica-
tions.
