SPI
Splice Point Indicator

When set to 1, this bit species that the current packet
contains an adaptation eld with a splice point counter
value of zero. The splice point indicator signals to the
host processor that a new program with a new time base
is transmitted on this particular PID. The host should
make the switch transition seamless as possible. When
this bit is 0, there is no splice point in the adaptation eld.
DI
Discontinuity Indicator

When set to 1, this bit species that DI ag in the adap-
tation eld has been detected. This can indicate an
attempt to switch to a new program with a new time base
and PCR. The host processor should update the fre-
quency lock procedure upon receiving this indication.
When this bit is 0, no DI has been detected.
PL
Packet Lost

When set to 1, this bit species that in this packet the
PPU detected a discontinuity error in the Continuity
Counter (CC) value. The packet lost error condition can
come about only when the mismatch in the CC value
comes without DI ag true. When this bit is 0, no packet
lost error has been detected.
AF
Adaptation Field
5
When set to 1, this bit species that the adaptation eld
has been posted for this PID index. When set to 0, no
adaptation eld has been posted for this PID index.
PID Index
[4:0]
This 5-bit eld species the index number of the matched
PID that has been processed. The value can vary from 0
to 29.

Control
Register (DTCR)
The DTCR is a 16-bit read and write register that controls the read or
write operations of either the host processor or the external DMA con-
troller to the internal DMA FIFO. Internally, the DMA FIFO can be con-
nected to the output of the PPU or to the external DRAM device.
