Display output supports color TFT-LCD interface.
Synchronizing signal output consists of the data clock CP, the line synchronizing pulse LCP, the frame
synchronizing pulse FRP, and the data enable DE that indicates the valid video data periods. As a general
synchronous interface of TFT-LCD, the interface can be used for both the type that uses horizontal/vertical
synchronization and the type that uses the DE signal.
For the display data, 8-bit output or 6-bit output per component can be selected in RGB format. At 6-bit data
output, it is possible to select whether the least significant 2 bits of 8-bit data is rounded off or gradation increasing
process is performed.
Gradation increasing process applies a method that performs pseudo gradation compensation of 2 bits using a
Dithering (error diffusion) and FRC (Frame Rate Control) mode. Spatial and temporal processing is realized by
changing further the dither pattern in the unit of 4
× 4 pixels with the 4-frame cycle. This enables display
equivalent to 8-bit output in 6-bit display of each of R, G, and B (253 graduations, 16.2 million colors in RGB).
