Output Section
The H-drive signal is transmitted to the output
through a shaping block ensuring a duty cycle
adjustable from 30% to 50%. In order to ensure a
reliable operation of the scanning power part, the
output is inhibitedin the followingcircumstances :
- V

too low,
- Xray protectionactivated,
- During the horizontal flyback,
- Outputvoluntarilyinhibited throughPin 4.
The outputstage iscomposedof a DarlingtonNPN
bipolartransistor.Boththecollectorandtheemitter
are accessible(see Figure 16).
The outputDarlingtonisinoff-statewhenthepower
scanning transistoris alsoin off-state.
The maximum output current is 20mA, and the
correspondingvoltagedropoftheoutputdarlington
is 1.1Vtypically.
It is evident that the power scanning transistor
cannot be directly driven by the integrated circuit.
An interfacehastobedesignedbetweenthecircuit
and the power transistorwhich can be of bipolaror
MOS type.
Outputs inhibition
The applicationof a voltagelowerthan1V (typ.)on
Pin 4(duty cycle adjust) inhibitsthe horizontaland
vertical outputs. Thisis not memorised.
