Time Limit on Sending Descriptors to USB Dongle via Infrared
The descriptors configured by Set_Peripheral_Info command are sent out to the PC via
infrared and USB after PE
’
s request to μP by its message. At this point, because of the
requirement of USB, the dongle must return USB descriptor from the peripheral to the PC
within 500 ms after receipt of an inquiry from the PC.
Because of this requirement, the dongle will continue its polling with request for the
descriptors to the peripheral devices for the period of approximately 300 ms over infrared,
considering the time required for the overhead as well as polling.
This means, the series of procedure, in which PE signal line MSG to be MSG = H and
obtain message by Get_Message command and then proceed Set_Peripheral_Info when
the message is a request for the descriptor, must be completed within 300 ms.
