Figure 10 shows the format of Commands. The Command will be recognized and identi-
fied by the Command ID, which comes in the first byte. There are two different types of
Commands, one is the fixed length, and the other is the variable length. In the variable
length Commands, the 2nd byte (Length) indicates the length of the parameter that fol-
lows, including the Length.
In addition, there are Commands that call for the response of the PE. As to these Com-
mands, as described in Figure 10 (c), PE will respond after the Command ID. Table 4 shows
the length of each Command, together with whether each Command calls for PE response.
In issuing variable length Commands, the μP must generate the number of serial clock (SCK)
pulses corresponding to the Command length. For the same reason, the serial clock that cor-
responds to the Message length must be generated in receiving variable length Messages.
