Obtaining &
Installing the
PP155
To start using the PP155, you need to obtain the MegaCore package from
your local Altera representative. The package includes:

Access to problem reporting system

Installing the MegaCore Files
Use the MegaWizard Plug-In to generate the files and install them on your
PC. The following instructions describe this process.

Before you can use the MegaWizard Plug-In, your PC must have
downloaded from the Java web site at http://www.java.sun.com
.
For Windows 95/ 98 and Windows NT 4.0, follow the instructions below:
1.
Click
Run
(Start menu).
2.
Type <
path name
>\ <
filename

.exe
, where <
path name
> is the location
of the downloaded PP155 and <
filename
> is the filename of the
PP155. Click
OK
.

The
MegaCore Installer
dialog box appears. Follow the wizard
instructions to finish the installation.

After you have finished installing the files, you must specify the
directory in which you installed them as a user library in the
Quartus software. Search for
“
User Libraries
”
in Quartus Help for
instructions on how to add these libraries.
Generating a
Custom PP155
This section describes the design flow using the Altera PP155 and the
Quartus development system. A MegaWizard Plug-In Manager is
provided with the PP155. The MegaWizard Plug-In Manager
—
used
within the Quartus software
—
allows you to create or modify design files
to meet the needs of you application. You can then instantiate the PP155
in your design file.
