System Development Tools
The RAP software environment will meet your total development needs,
from basic reference designs to turnkey solutions. The software
environment package is comprised of low-level component initialization
up to complete operating systems, device drivers, communication
protocol stacks, and a sample demo application. You select only the tools
you need. The software environment tools are available from either
LSI Logic or LSI Logic’s third party partners. Contact your local sales
office for more details.

System Development Utilities
PMON (PROM Monitor)—LSI Logic’s MIPS family of PROM monitors
provides a fundamental set of commands for loading and debugging
software applications that run on the MIPS family of processors.
Low-Level Hardware Diagnostics—The RAP chip evaluation board
includes low-level diagnostics that exercise its many functions. These
diagnostics provide the level of hardware confidence necessary for
proper software performance of the system.
Initialization and Configuration Code—The RAP chip evaluation
board package includes reference code that illustrates the required
start-up code for the board. As a designer, you can use this code as
a template as you build systems specific to your individual product
requirements.
