Protocols Between Host and USB Dongle
Figure 11 illustrates the protocols between the Host and USB Dongle implemented with
HC. The following sections describe the items related to the protocol process between the
Dongle Driver and the Host device.
The IrDA Control peripherals will send the data to the assigned port within the USB Dongle
(Control information to Endpoint 0, and data to Endpoint 1). The USB Dongle will then send
the data received from the IrDA Control peripherals to its Host. Control pipe is used for the
control information on Endpoint 0, while the interrupt pipe is used for the data on Endpoint 1.
