Memory
Program ROM :

Maximum 56K bytes of program ROM(directly access). However, all the ROM space (504K bytes)
can be used as program area via bank-accessing(bank2~7). If it doesn't use up so much program
ROM, the remainder can be used as speech ROM.

Reset, System Clock, and Power Control
Reset
Reset occurs under the following conditions:
Power-ON Reset (POR) -- POR is generated
when a positive transition occurs on the
VDD pad.
External Reset -- Reset is generated when a
logical zero is applied to the RESETB pad.
System Clock
Programmable system clocks(Fosc) from
1M Hz~ 8M Hz.
Programmable CPU clock(Fcpu):
Fosc,
Fosc/4, Fosc/8 & 32768 Hz.
Note: Choosing which system clock depends on what speech
sampling rate and the number of speech channels required or
practical application.
Power Control
To reduce the power consumption, two power-
saving modes are included in this chip: CPU-Halt
mode and Stop mode. Moreover, LCD ON/OFF
and CPU speed controls are available to help
reducing
power
consumption.
The
main
differences between these two modes is on the
system clock. In the CPU-Halt mode, the oscillator
continues to run while the peripherals remain
unchanged, but the clock signal is gated to CPU.
In the Stop mode, the oscillator is frozen, and as
the result, CPU, all peripherals & RTC stop.
