The ADSL-L Line Driver Chip
is part of the Siemens
POTSWIRE
TM
ADSL chipset. It
consists of the digital data pump
PEB 22712, optimized analog
front ends for the remote trans-
mission unit (PEB 22713), the cen-
tral office unit (PEB 22711) and
the line driver (PEB 22709 and
PEB 22710). The line driver con-
sists of two wideband cur-
rent-feedback amplifiers, a topo-
logy which supports the high
slew rates and low total harmon-
ic distortion required in DMT
ADSL applications.
Designed for low power dissipa-
tion, the line driver consumes
only 1.4 W in the central office ap-
plication. In the remote applica-
tion the power dissipation is re-
duced to 800 mW.
In addition, a power down mode
for periods with no data transmis-
sion is supported.
Two package versions are avail-
able: PEB 22709 with the heat
