sideofthePCBfromtheswitchingFETs.
3. Placetheinductorinputascloseaspossibletothe
drainoftheswitchingFETs.Minimizethesurfacearea
oftheswitchnode.Makethetracewidththeminimum
neededtosupporttheprogrammedchargecurrent.
Usenocopperfillsorpours.Avoidrunningthecon-
nectiononmultiplecopperlayersinparallel.Minimize
capacitancefromtheswitchnodetoanyothertrace
orplane.
4. Placethechargecurrentsenseresistorimmediately
adjacenttotheinductoroutput,andorientitsuchthat
currentsensetracestotheLTC4011areshort.These
feedbacktracesneedtoberuntogetherasasinglepair
withthesmallestspacingpossibleonanygivenlayer
onwhichtheyarerouted.Locateanyfiltercomponent
onthesetracesnexttotheLTC4011,andnotatthe
senseresistorlocation.
5. Placeoutputcapacitorsadjacenttothesenseresisitor
outputandground.
6. Outputcapacitorgroundconnectionsmustfeedinto
thesamecopperthatconnectstotheinputcapacitor
groundbeforetyingbackintosystemground.
7. Connectionofswitchinggroundtosystemground,
oranyinternalgroundplaneshouldbesingle-point.
Ifthesystemhasaninternalsystemgroundplane,a
goodwaytodothisistoclusterviasintoasinglestar
pointtomaketheconnection.
