EM73220 speech synthesizer is not available for slow mode. It is disabled when the CPU is reseted or sleeping.
The EM73220 speech synthesizer is used the concept of ASPCM, the operating process is following:
1. P9 ( 2:0 ) choose sample rate and generate sampling clock .
2. P6( 1:0),P5(3:0) choose playing section and send section start address to ROM address counter.
3. ROM address counter send ROM address to speech data ROM and speech segment ROM .
4. According to ROM address, speech data and segment ROM send data to mapping circuit, then decode to
7 bits data .
5. 7 bits data send to 7 bits Digital to Analog Converter, then sending voice data out to VO.
6. ACT (P6.3) is an acknowledge signal for voice enable signal ( high active ).
7. Port 6 write is an enable signal for both section address and speech trigger ( edge-trigger, retrigger mode).
