5. CHARACTERCODE FORMAT
Each character is defined with a two bytes code;
the firstis at an even address,the secondis at the
following odd address. Some attributes are paral-
lel, other keep the last explicit value.
STV9410uses 3 different types of codes.
5.1 ALPHANUMERIC CHARACTERS
(256 patterns)
The backgroundcolor is not defined bythe code;it
takes the samevalue as the previouscharacter or
it hasthevalue ofthe margincolorat the beginning
of eachrow.
The characterpattern lies in ROMif CHARACTER
NUMBER is lower than 80h, (ALPHANUMERIC
CHARACTER SETis shown in TABLE3),else it is
User Defined Character inRAM (DRCS).

At the beginningof each row, those attributestake

- IF = 1
- IB = IMG (Margin insertattribute)
- BC(2:0) = GMG, RMG, BMG (Margin color).
Notice that following characters code is reserved
for futur use.

6. CHARACTERGENERATORS
Each pixel is defined with one bit, 1 refers to
foregroundcolor, and0 to backgroundcolor.

PX7 is the leftmost pixel.
Character slice address :
Eachcharactergeneratorcontainsa successionof
patternsarrangedasanumberofhorizontalslices:
- Slice addr = (Set addr) + Char Number x 10 +
(slice number)
- Char Number is the number of the character in
the set; usingDRCS in RAM, the callingcode of
the character is the number of the character in
the set plus 80h.
- Set addr is definedin ADDR register, in RAM for
DRCS(seesection3.2),andis2000hforALPHA-
NUMERIC ROM, and 2800h for STANDARD
MOSAICROM.
