The Proportional Voltage Booster is a simple means for
obtaining the higher voltage used for driving piezo
devices, such as sheets, benders and stacks, at static or
quasi static frequency. It requires only a low voltage DC
supply (such as the output of an op-amp),commonly avail-
able in the laboratory.
The booster is small in size, PC board mountable, and
suited for low current / high voltage applications. Output
voltage is proportional to the input voltage and is linear
from ~ 10% to the maximum output voltage. Output rip-
ple is low. Floating output enables the user to choose
either positive or negative drive. And, it is short circuit
and reverse polarity protected.
