PI90LV03andPI90LVB03aresingleLVDSRepeatersthatuse
low-voltagedifferentialsignaling(LVDS)tosupportdataratesup
to660Mbps.ThePI90LVB03featureshigh-driveoutput.Both
productsaredesignedforapplicationsrequiringhigh-speed,low-
powerconsumption,low-noisegeneration,andasmallpackage.
TheLVDSRepeaterstakeanLVDSinputsignalandprovidean
LVDSoutputtoaddressvariousinterfacelogicrequirementssuch
assignalisolation,repeater,stublength,andOpticalTransceiver
Modules. In many large systems, signals are distributed across
backplanes,andthedistancebetweenthetransmissionlineandthe
unterminatedreceiversareoneofthelimitingfactorsforsystem
speed.Thebufferscanbeusedtoreducethe‘stublength’bystra-
tegicdeviceplacementalongthetracelength.Theycanimprove
systemperformancebyallowingthereceivertobeplacedvery
closetothemaintransmissionlineorveryclosetotheconnector
onthecard.LongertracestotheLVDSreceivercanthenbeplaced
afterthebuffer.
Thebuffer’swideinputdynamicrangeenablesthemtoreceivedif-
ferentialsignalsfromLVPECLandLVDSsources.Thedevicescan
beusedascompacthigh-speedserialtranslatorsbetweenLVPECL
andLVDSdatalines.Thedifferentialtranslationprovidesasimple
waytomixandmatchOpticalTransceiverICsfromvariousvendors
withoutredesigningtheinterfaces.

The PI90LV03 and PI90LVB03 provide differential translation
betweenLVDSandPECLdevicesforhigh-speed,point-to-point
