L,H, H,L,respectively. These circuits have been de-
signedto not only incorporate all of the designer’s re-
quirements for arithmetic operations, but also topro-
vide 16 possible functions of two Boolean variables
withouttheuse ofexternal circuitry. These logic func-
tionsare selectedbyuseofthefourfunction-select in-
puts(S0, S1, S2, S3) withthe mode-control input (M)
atahighlevel to disable the internal carry.Allinputs
areequipped withprotectioncircuitsagainststaticdis-
charge and transient excess voltage.
