The thermalresistance is referred
to the thermalpath from the dissipatingregion
on the top surface of the silicon chip, to the
points alongthe four central pins of the pack-
age, at a distanceof 1.5 mm away from the
stand-offs.

Similarly, the referencepoint is the knee
on the four central pins, where the pins are up-
wardly bent and the soldering joint with the
PCB footprint can be made.

m,
and with a surfacesimilar or bigger than the
one shown, is created making use of the
printed circuit.
Such heatsinkingsurface is consideredon the
bottom side of an horizontalPCB (worst case).

ones), as well as the others, havea minimum
thermalconnection with the externalworld
(very thin stripsonly) so that the dissipation
takesplace throughstill air and through the
PCB itself.
