DESCRIPTION:
The ALVCH16271 is intended for applications in which two separate data
pathsmustbemultiplexedonto,ordemultiplexedfrom,asingledatapath.This
deviceisparticularlysuitableasaninterfacebetweenconventionalDRAMsand
high-speedmicroprocessors.
AdataisstoredintheinternalA-to-Bregistersonthelow-to-hightransition
of the clock (CLK) input, provided that the clock-enable (CLKENA) inputs are
low. Proper control of these inputs allows two sequential 12-bit words to be
presentedasa24-bitwordontheBport. TransparentlatchesintheB-to-Apath
allowasynchronousoperationtomaximizememoryaccessthroughput.These
latchestransferdatawhenthelatch-enable(LE)inputsarelow.Theselect(SEL)
lineselects1Bor2BdatafortheAinputs.Dataflowiscontrolledbytheactive-
low output enables (OEA, OEB).
The ALVCH16271 has been designed with a ±24mA output driver. This
driveriscapableofdrivingamoderatetoheavyloadwhilemaintainingspeed
performance.
TheALVCH16271has“bus-hold”whichretainstheinputs’laststatewhen-
ever the input goes to a high impedance. This prevents floating inputs and
eliminatestheneedforpull-up/downresistors.
