The connectors of the Tri Port Series are composed of three con-
nectors vertically stacked and assembled into a single module, which
permits saving of panel and printed board space. Final assembly costs
are reduced by the simplification of the mounting operations.
Tri Port Series connectors are professional quality connectors rec-
ommended for use in sheltered, non-corrosive indoor or outdoor envi-
ronments having normal ventilation but without temperature or humid-
ity controls.
Four connector contact variants of 9, 15, 25 and 37 contacts are
available. Connector genders may be mixed, i.e., two female connec-
tors and one male connector may compose a Tri Port assembly. The
three connectors may be spaced apart to two standard spacings to
accommodate various dimensions of discrete hoods or molded cable
assemblies.
Tri Port Series connectors are equipped with a multi-layer flexible
“stripline” circuit which conducts and shields the signal as it is transmit-
ted from the connector contacts to the printed board conductors.
Mounting angle brackets are riveted to the connectors by specifying
mounting options N7 or N8 in step four of the ordering system. These
options provide for labor saving ease of connector assembly mounting
to the printed board, and also permit rapid jackscrew installation.
Locking systems are available utilizing 4-40 threaded jackscrew sys-
tems, both polarized or non-polarized. A quick-release vibration lock-
ing system which permits either front or rear panel mounting of the con-
nector is also available.
Tri Port Series connectors comply with the dimensional and coupling
requirements of IEC 807-2 and MIL-DTL-24308. Tri Port connectors
also meet the interface requirements for EIA RS232 and RS449 and
the CCITT X.24 recommendation.
