DESCRIPTION
The GB3210-S01 Product Abstraction Layer (PAL) in
combination with the GB3210 provides an advanced, four
channel Wide Dynamic Range Compression (WDRC) DSP
system with embedded

capability. A highly
configurable digital signal processor enables extremely
versatile fitting with independent channel compression
characteristics, including five parameter
adjustment and variable AGC time constants. All
programmable parameters, including the three crossover
frequencies, have generous adjustment ranges and
excellent resolution. Each channel contains independent
AGC control with Gennum's proven Twin Detector
approach.

enables the efficient addition of multi-
microphone directionality with exceptional flexibility. A wide
range of polar patterns are possible and can be
programmed in the field after a simple calibration
procedure is performed on the complete hearing aid by the
manufacturer. Different polar patterns can be programmed
and can be changed as required within each memory. Full
microphone compensation capability eliminates the need
for matched microphones.
Advanced features include low-level expansion (squelch), a
fully programmable notch filter with optional gain
dependent operation, and a pure tone generator enabling
in situ audiometry.
GB3210 provides industry leading performance with an
input dynamic range of 95dB, total system time delay of
less than 2ms and low current consumption (below 900μA
including
transducers

applications).
