Description
The DA1300 is a general purpose, low-cost RF wideband amplifier IC manufactured on a
GaAs Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) process. The input and output of the IC are
internally matched to 50
for convenient cascading. Applications include IF and RF
amplification in wireless voice and data communication products from DC to 3GHz. The
DA1300 needs minimal external components for DC biasing and is housed in a very small
instudstry standard SOT89 surface mount package.

Description
1
IN
Signal input pin. An external series DC blocking capacitor is required. No
DC coupling allowed.
2
GND
Ground connection. Keep traces as physically short as possible and con-
nect immediately to ground plane for best performance.
3
OUT
Signal output and bias pin. An external series resistor and choke inductor
to supply voltage V
CC
are required for biasing. The resistor provides DC
feedback to prevent thermal runaway and fixes the DC current to a desired
level by the following equation:
,
where V
DEVICE
is the DC voltage observed at this pin. An external series
DC blocking capacitor is required here as well.
4
GND
Same as pin 2.
