FC Single-mode and Multimode
with Preradiused Ferrule
Description
Siecor’s field-installable, heat-cured connector prod-
uct line has been expanded to include FC connectors.
These connectors are available in multimode or single-
mode. They feature a preradiused zirconia ferrule that
allows the installer to hand-polish using a soft, com-
pliant pad that reduces the risk of endface fracturing
during polishing. In addition, a Super PC polishing
procedure is available that will yield
≤
-40 dB
reflectance.
The FC heat-cured connector uses a two-part, heat-
cured epoxy to bond the fiber into the ferrule. The
connectors may be terminated in batches to increase
production, and reduce per connector termination time.
The FC connector conforms to the JIS C-5970 stan-
dard and has a non-optical disconnect feature. The
ferrule is keyed during manufacture to optimize per-
formance. In addition, it is pre-assembled for easy
installation and has a jacket retention crimp ring.
The installation kit will work with all of Siecor’s heat-
cured connectors, both multimode and single-mode
of any style.
