Description
Corning Cable Systems’ heat-cure product line includes a full
line of single-mode and multimode epoxy and polish connec-
tors for factory installation. We offer a wide range of connec-
tor styles, hardware and boot options. Preradiused and angled
ferrules are also available.
Corning Cable Systems’ new polymer multimode ferrule
offers excellent performance at a very low price. The re-
designed ferrule allows easier fiber entry and has the lowest
material cost available. The standard multimode zirconia
ceramic ferrule has a radiused end-face to allow physical
contact (PC) polishing.
The hardware on the ST compatible connector is available
in either thermoplastic or metal. Both feature a closed keyway
design allowing the connector to far exceed performance
specifications for tensile strength. The SC connector features
a shroud that is duplexable with a simple housing. The FC
and SC connectors have non-optical disconnect features. All
connectors are pre-assembled for easy installation.
For Super or Ultra PC, the single-mode zirconia ceramic
ferrule has a radiused end-face to allow physical contact (PC)
polishing. A consumables kit and procedure are available for
hand-polishing. Ultra PC (-55 dB) may be achieved by using
our automatic polishers. For angled PC, the FC, LC and SC
are available. The ferrule is pre-angled and must be polished
with Corning Cable Systems’ automatic polishers. A typical
reflectance of -65 dB is achievable with this process.
