This product enables a quick, low cost method of taking a cable through a
bulkhead or panel whilst providing some measure of cable retention and sealing
but without the cable gland usually associated with this type of assembly.
The product, approved to IP67, is similar to a standard blind grommet but has
a tapered top which, when the cable is inserted as shown below, enables
a degree of retention and sealing.
These grommets are
not
intended as a replacement for a cable gland where
a positive seal and secure retention are required but, in less rigorous applications
where space is restricted for cable glands, this could be the ideal
product. Manufactured in standard grey with options on light grey,
black and cream, the products are available in metric and
PG sizes, to suit a range of cable diameters from 3mm to 60mm
for a given panel cut-out.
