point on will be directed to an MMDS/MMEVS text file called
K3EEPROG.LOG

The MMDS/MMEVS’s
DISPLAY REGISTERS (REG)
command is called. The PEEPROM’s programming and
reading algorithms are designed so that the address stored in
the program counter will indicate whether the task was carried
out correctly.

If an attempt was made to read the PEEPROM, the
MMDS/MMEVS
DISPLAY MEMORY (MD)
command is then
called to display the contents of locations $C0–$CF. The
PEEPROM’s reading algorithm’s code places the data that it
read from the PEEPROM into this memory space.

The log file is closed by calling the
LOG FILE (LF)
again.

The MMDS/MMEVS
EXIT
command is called to exit the
MMDS/MMEVS host software and return the user to DOS.

After the development system has completed a read or
programming operation, the host software exits to DOS and
execution of K3EEPROG resumes.

K3EEPROG evaluates the results of the development system’s
operation by opening and parsing the
K3EEPROG.LOG
file. The
absence of a log file or the address recorded in the
K3EEPROG.LOG
signals to K3EEPROG that the MMDS/MMEVS
failed to carry out the user’s command. An error dialog box is
displayed to inform the user of this fact after which program control
is returned to the user menu.

If the user attempted to read the PEEPROM, K3EEPROG
displays its contents to the user. Otherwise, the user is notified
that the programming operation was successful.

The temporary
Startup.05
file, S-record file, and the
K3EEPROG.LOG
file are deleted, leaving no residual traces of
K3EEPROG’s execution. If a user startup file was present, it is
renamed to
Startup.05
13.
K3EEPROG waits for another user command.
