PS No.7108-8/8
Continued from preceding page.
(3) Described below are the conditions and checkpoints to be observed when setting the constants of the resistor and
capacitor to be externally connected to the R pin and C pin.
1) The maximum value (fOUT1) of the multiplied output frequency to be set must be less than or equal to 1MHz.
2) The R pin voltage and FIL pin voltage must be used within the range 0.3V to (VCC1 - 2.2V). (VCC1 is the
minimum value of the VCC power supply fluctuations, and is equal to or greater than 4.5V.) However, the
lower the R pin voltage, the more easily the multiplied output frequency is affected by ground line noise and
the higher the possibility that it will become unstable. Therefore, a low R pin voltage must not be used if
ground line noise is high.
3) The external resistor (R) connected to the R pin must have a resistance value within the range 6.8k
Ω to 15kΩ.
The R pin itself must be used with a current of not more than 280
μA.
4) The external capacitor (C) connected to the C pin must have a capacitance value within the range 240pF to
1000pF.
5) To increase the variation range for the multiplied output frequency, the values for R and C must be set as high
as possible (within the range below the R1 and C1 calculated values), and components with minimal
fluctuations must be used. To further increase the variation range for the multiplied output frequency, a VCC
voltage greater than 5V must be supplied by, for instance, using the VREG pin (7.1V shunt regulator) of
LB11825M.
5. NC pin
Since this pin is electrically open, it may be used with connections routed through it without posing any problems.
